Military History Seminar (MHS VI), 2022

Military History Seminar (MHS VI), 2022 was hosted by Welham Boys School on 28 & 29 October respectively. 12 students from Manava Bharati India International School had participated in this seminar.

On 28 October, the event began with a grand opening ceremony. This was followed by Syndicate 1 where there was screening of Aakash Yodha and then, the resource persons discussed on the topic “J & K-Genesis of India’s Security Problem.”

Aditi Bhargava-VIII A, Mahira Rawat-VIII B and Tanuja Tiwari- VIII A participated in this Syndicate.

Next was Syndicate 2 where the topic of discussion was “From Passive to Proactive: Siachen Onwards” and related to this was an Art Exhibition titled Walk down memory lane.

Abhinav Kumar Singh-X A was chosen the artist of the Syndicate and he made a beautiful painting portraying the Indian army. The participants in this syndicate were- Deepak Panwar X A, Pranjal Gupta X B and Avishek Patwal IX A. Then the students watched the IMA band perform at the school the atron. The programme of the first day culminated with the screening of a short film- Making of a warrior.
On 29 October, the programme began with Syndicate 3 which discussed on the topic “IPKF Onwards: India’s Power Projection.” Related to this was yet another Art Exhibition. The participants of this syndicate were Nishika Singh VIII A, Shreya Lingwal VIII B and Vaamika Baswan X A.

Then there was Syndicate 4 which discussed on the topic “Russia Ukraine Crisis: China/US World order (India’s position).” The participants of this syndicate were – Abhinav Kumar Singh X A, Ankur Gandhi X B and Ishaan Joshi IX A. This was followed by an interactive session with Air Chief Marshal R.K.S. Bhadauria (retd) PVSM, AVSM, VM, ADC and Admiral Karambir Singh (retd) PVSM, AVSM, ADC.

One student from each Syndicate was chosen to interact with them on stage and Ankur Gandhi of X B from our school was selected to represent his syndicate. This was followed by the closing ceremony. Every student was presented with participation certificate.

The two days of the seminar were quite enriching for the students as they got the opportunity to learn more about Indian military, war tactics and India’s military status in the current scenario. They could also interact with the stalwarts of the Indian Armed Forces and present their queries. All this will enable them to impart the knowledge they have gathered, amongst others.
